Loaded Smokey Buffalo Fries
Ingredients
Base:
500 g frozen or homemade fries (skin-on or crinkle-cut for extra crisp)
Neutral oil (for frying or air frying)
Buffalo topping:
3 tbsp Saus.Guru Buffalo Smokey
1 tbsp melted butter or neutral oil
Optional: dash of honey or maple syrup for sweet-smoky balance
Loaded toppings:
100 g shredded cheddar (or vegan cheese alternative)
1 spring onion, thinly sliced
1 small red onion, finely diced
1 fresh red chili or jalapeño, sliced (optional)
2 tbsp chopped pickles or gherkins
Fresh parsley or coriander (optional)
Optional protein add-ons: pulled jackfruit, shredded chicken, tempeh, or bacon bits
Instructions
- Cook the fries
Bake or air fry until super crispy and golden brown. Homemade? Soak fresh-cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, dry thoroughly, then fry twice (first at 160°C, then again at 190°C). - Make the Buffalo sauce
Combine Saus.Guru Buffalo Smokey with melted butter. Warm gently to create a smooth, pourable glaze. - Layer it up
Place hot fries on a tray or bowl. Drizzle generously with the Buffalo sauce. Sprinkle the cheese over the top — let it melt slightly (or grill for 2–3 mins for a molten top layer). - Add the toppings
Scatter red onion, spring onion, pickles, chili slices, and any additional protein. Finish with a final drizzle of sauce or your favorite dip. - Garnish & serve
Top with fresh herbs or microgreens. Serve immediately while hot and messy!
